Board a speedboat for an approximately 45-minute ride in search of dolphins. The most common species found here is the Irrawaddy Dolphin, a slow swimmer known for its gentle, rolling movements and the way it lifts its tail fluke above the water before diving deep. Irrawaddy Dolphins are also known to spit streams of water from their mouths while hopping playfully. You’ll have the opportunity to observe these fascinating creatures as they swim around local fishing boats in search of food.
After this exciting experience, the cruise continues to the Satang Islands, located off the coast of Santubong. Upon arrival, you’ll visit a turtle conservation and hatchery area. The island, part of the Talang-Satang National Park, serves as an important nesting ground for Green Turtles and the rare Hawksbill Turtles. Your guide will share insights about the conservation program, which places park rangers at the forefront of protecting these endangered species.
Following the conservation centre visit, enjoy the sandy beaches of Satang Island — a perfect spot to relax, swim, or snorkel in the clear blue waters teeming with colorful fish, coral, and marine life. A packed lunch will be provided on the island.
On the return journey, the boat will pass by “Bird’s Rock,” a rocky islet that serves as an important rookery for Black-naped and Bridled Terns. The boat will slow down to give you a better view and appreciation of this scenic and ecologically significant site.
