Overview

The excursion takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes by land to reach the national park, where you can witness the world’s largest flower — the Rafflesia (subject to the blooming season).

The Rafflesia can grow up to 3 feet wide. When in bloom, it undergoes a fascinating growth process and emits a strong, unpleasant odor that attracts flies and other insects for pollination.

A trek along the wooden plankwalk will lead you through the dense primary and secondary tropical forest. Along the way, you may spot squirrels leaping from tree to tree, and if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the white-crested hornbill.
